Its name sounds like "gui" (贵), meaning honor and nobility, and it has long been associated with passing imperial examinations—a wish for "success and recognition" (金榜题名). The finch, a gentle and harmonious bird, represents peace, joy, and the beauty of companionship—a wish for "harmony and togetherness" (和和美美).
